Vintage Air Force Academy Falcons Pennant, Circa 1950s

Presented is a vintage Air Force Academy felt pennant, circa 1950s. The pennant has a dark blue field with a white headband and no ties. Printed in red, white, and yellow are a jet, the Air Force Academy shield, and a flying falcon carrying the United States flag. The text reads, "U.S. AIR FORCE" in patriotic flag motif and white lettering. 

President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation establishing the Academy on April 1, 1954. The first students enrolled at the Air Force Academy in 1955, making this one of the earliest pennants celebrating the institution. 

CONDITION:

Very good condition. Strong color, in both felt and printed color. The felt pennant has one pinhole on the fly end and some loss to the printed letters of "I," "R," and "E" in "Air Force." Otherwise no notable damage. Pennant dimensions:  12" H x 29" W.

Pennant is archivally framed, in a custom-built wooden frame with acid-free mats and UV Conservation clear glass. 

Framed Dimensions: 16 1/2"H x 33"W x 1 3/4"D. 

Accompanied by our company's letter of authenticity.
