Vintage Borghese Eagle Bookends with Black Base
This is a pair of 20th century vintage American eagle bookends. The eagles are depicted with widely spread wings and arched heads, turned to the side. They are rendered in a Federal style, with a black base and gold stars on the bottom.
This pair of Borghese eagle bookends are similar to those seen on the Oval Office desk of John F. Kennedy during his presidency.
CONDITION:
Overall good condition considering age and use. The gold paint on the eagles is has some light scuffs. Felt bottom, flat back with a stabilizing stand.
Dimensions: 8 1/2" H x 5 3/4" W x 5 3/4" D (each).
