Vintage Sterling Silver and Enamel USA Pendant Necklace, 1955-64
This vintage sterling silver and enamel USA pendant has been fashioned into a necklace by vintage jewelry designers, Intellectual Property. The USA charm is in the shape of the United States map, enamelled in a patriotic red, white, and blue colorway. The prominent cities of Washington, New York, Boston, New Orleans, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles are all labelled in raised relief. The reverse of the charm is engraved with “God Bless America” and hallmarked with the company name Wells Sterling. Wells Sterling was an American company, in production from 1955-64. The USA charm was found in Edinburgh, Scotland. The charm is now presented on a beaded strand of faceted pyrite, with a sterling silver toggle.
Searching the braderies and antique shops throughout Europe, the founders of Intellectual Property, Mary and Hallie, specialize in finding unique antique medals and transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Their designs highlight the legacy and integrity of the original pieces, artfully bringing the past into the present.
